Thanks! My previous problem has inspired me to reinvestigate the
Magic SysRq key, as well.
As far as the OOM goes... I managed to eventually switch to a virtual
console and kill the make job. Also noticed that it killed chromium processes,
but there were still a ton running.
Maybe I should obey the Fudster and run Dillo instead :-D
