My advice wouldn't be very helpful for a beginner.

Why not?

You wouldn't understand my answer.

You are a "beginner."

Certainly not.

You are a distro lackey.

Like everyone, including you. Changing a configuration file isn't enough
to pretend having creating your own distro.

Admit it.  If a GNU/Linux distro did not exist then you you be
as helpless as a fish out of water.

I'm not sure you can understand, but I'll admit something else. If there
wasn't any distro, I would have managed to install Linux a long time
ago. To discover it. But I would have switch to something else by now. I
have better thing to do on my spare time than do the work a distro does.

You could not build your own distro.

I have really better things to do. So, without any distro, I would have
tried it to discover, but then I would have switched to something else.

Because LFS is great to discover, but to use it as an everyday OS is
just a full time job. Because once LFS is installed, you have nothing
usable. So, you have to install BLFS to have something a little bit more
useful but not enough. When LFS and BLFS are installed, you have the
skills required to install anything (in fact, anybody but you would) to
have a real usable computer. But it takes more time. And then, you have
to manage the updates and it never ends. So with LFS/BLFS you can have a
real good computer but you have no time left to you it.

The ultimate proof being you who never use your computer.

You greatly overestimate your skillz, bozo.

Nothing new under the sun.

Just about anybody can follow a Gentoo or LFS handbook.

Yes, but with a lot of time available.
