'some errant distro'?  You mean the 95% of distros that try to accommodate everyone with easy OS installers and GUI system admin and package managers?
And those user-friendly distros actually have succeeded in getting some user share (maybe 4%) over the last 30+ years, and probably half of that was gained over the last 5-8 years.
So user-friendly is the best thing that ever happened to Linux.
The worst thing is a tossup between:
1) your parents - they bore a boor
2) the male pansies and women that are running the Linux Foundation and
    many distros, which are now chock full of codes of conduct and DEI
    trash.
