Biggest issue was running into a bug when copying from
ramdisk to the Synology Diskstation using rsync(1):

   https://github.com/RsyncProject/rsync/issues/697

(How did _that_ get in there?)  Fortunately, the update
was already in Linux Mint's update manager.
