But will Iceland grant you residency?

Iceland is in Schengen, so you can visit (it's a "domestic flight" from
Frankfurt or Copenhagen). And a bit of Googling teaches me that EU and
EFTA citizens can live in Iceland without a visa.

Non-EU, non-Scandinavians ... not so easy.
