I had a problem with the Acer laptop when using WSL. As far as I could
determine shutting off the display was the proximate cause. It hibernates
fine. Too many variables there to solely blame Linux.

Just for the heck of it, I'll close the lid on this laptop when I'm done
with work today. It will be neat to see whether the machine wakes from
its long sleep when I come back tomorrow. It's a standard Ubuntu 24.04
install on an Intel HD 6000. If it works, I'll be happy to curse NVIDIA
yet again.
