 Ubuntu has played a massive role in making Linux accessible to a broader audience. Love it or hate it, it's hard to deny that Ubuntu has brought a lot of people into the Linux ecosystem who might never have tried it otherwise. The fact that it's user-friendly and well-documented has been a gateway for countless users to explore other distros and dive deeper into the world of open-source software.
 As for the move to Rust, I see that as a positive step. Rust is a modern language designed for safety and performance, and its adoption in critical parts of the Linux ecosystem (not just Ubuntu) is a sign of progress. It's not about abandoning GNU or C; it's about evolving to address real-world challenges like memory safety and concurrency. The Linux kernel itself is starting to incorporate Rust, so this isn't just a Canonical thing - it's a broader shift in the industry.
 I understand the frustration with Canonical's decisions over the years, like the Amazon search integration or the Snap package system. Those choices have been controversial, and they've alienated some users. But Canonical has also contributed a lot to the open-source community, from Mir (which eventually influenced Wayland) to tools like Juju and MAAS. They've made mistakes, sure, but they've also pushed Linux forward in meaningful ways.
 As for the language and tone, I get that you're venting, but let's keep the conversation constructive. Linux is a community, and we're all here because we care about open-source software and the freedom it represents. There's room for criticism, but there's also room for respect and collaboration.
