The video drivers are used to drive the video.
Without the video drivers, you won't have graphics for your gui, or to
to play kick-ass games like Elite Dangerous: Trailblazers.

Very, very old ones.
Anybody using a discrete video card is most likely
keeping up with video drivers. NVIDIA and RADEON
are two such examples.
