Admittedly though, MOST people will make their first

Why would you call it "tragic" to make a USB media with Winblows?  It
works.  I admittedly rewrote the media under Linux itself, to
eliminate Rufus' fingerprint, but I did install the first Linux distro
on this machine from a media made in Win11.  It didn't make any
difference in terms of what was installed.  You apparently are such a
purist you can't even look at Winblows on the screen without pissing
your pants, or something.

Sarcasm isn't your stronger suit, is it?
Why should I have taken c186282's statements as sarcasm?  They
apparently genuinely do think M$ code executing is rape of their
computer, or whatever lunatic obsession is running through their
demented brain.  Windows sucks but it's still a real OS, Rufus is a
great freeware tool not made by M$ itself, why use a word like
"tragic" to boot Winblows for a few minutes?  Just silliness.

Actually one good thing about Windows is that you can use
it to make bootable Linux CDa, DVDs and Flash Drives. Or at least
you could in XP which I used briefly in my first laptop a "Good Quality"
brand machine and its primary virture was the low price.  It died
young, unmourned, its 2.4 GHz Pentium forever stilled.
Another good thing is that Windows is abandoned when
the OS slows the machine enough that the users notice it and
get rid of the machine which means that someone into Linux
will be able to get newer machine at a low price.
