I never had any problems, but on the other hand, perhaps I either was lucky to never work with any madmen, or I'm a good judge of character.
All programmers I've worked with, except one, were generally very nice people, and the ones who had no interest in being involved in the commercial side, I would obviously not drag in front of the customer.
