on the Win look/feel/complications ......
Me, I use the far simpler interfaces, and turn OFF
all the eye-candy crap. Linux isn't, and should not
pretend to be, Winders.

typesetting needs some kind of WYSIWG interface.
No, not at all. Try TeX / LaTeX or Context. No GUI necessary.
