A shot at graduate school was similar. It didn't take long to realize the
curricula had no bearing on what I was doing or ever wanted to do.

    As some here have noted, 'academic' computing and
   real-world are very different. Each kind of, oft
   barely, influences the other but it's really two
   universes.
    Maybe the best cross-over was Professor Wirth with
   Pascal/Modula. Alas it was a shorter fence to
   straddle back then ....
