Chacun a son gout.  I don't want things in my face all the time.  My
programming work involves wrestling with complex puzzles, and when I'm
concentrating hard, the last thing I need is pretty pop-ups telling
me where I should be going and what I should be buying.  I want
infrastructure that quietly - and reliably - runs in the background
and stays out of my face.  I have enough adventures trying to keep
systems running - I don't need any more entertainment, thankyouverymuch.

I'm dual-booting between Win 11 (where I have tried to "disable" all kinds
of notifications) and Debian Testing ("trixie") where I run Fluxbox and
mostly terminal windows.

Guess which OS gets in my face all the time.
