And don’t forget its role in the foundation and ensuring the ongoing
viability of the modern state of Israel. Whether from guilt over
centuries of persecution of Jews as “Christ-killers” (culminating in
the murderous actions of aforesaid Nazis), or as part of some
fulfilment of some doctrinal prophecy about the second coming of their
Messiah, or both. This is why religious books should never be used as
guides for what is right and wrong.
Intrepid also points finger at Ambassador Kennedy ... they start bugging
the US embassy because classified information was leaking to the
Germans. They eventually identified a clerk as responsible but couldn't
prove ties to Kennedy. However Kennedy is claiming credit for
Chamberland capitulating to Hitler on many issues ... also making
speeches in Britain and the US that Britain could never win a war with
Germany and if he was president, he would be on the best of terms with
Hitler.
I knew, from “A Man Called Intrepid”, that Churchill and Roosevelt had
all but given up on Kennedy as effectively a Nazi sympathizer. So they
were working around him (through Sir William Stephenson, a.k.a.
“Intrepid”) to coordinate actions (entirely unofficially, and without
the knowledge or agreement of Congress) even before the US officially
entered the war.
But I didn’t know Joe had gone as far as betraying his country’s
secrets to the Germans. Wasn’t the penalty for being a spy death
by firing squad?
As usual, one law for ordinary people, another law for the elite ...
