Yes. I echo your sentiments.
But the more I learnt about the military and what it teaches and how it teaches the more grudging respect I have for it.
The officer training starts with the assumption that the only thing you know for sure is what you are trying to achieve, and what resources you have. The rest is a structured program of plan, reconnoitre, understand the reality of what you learn, modify the plan, and try again.
No politician would dare be that pragmatic.
