It might be a lot worse. Previous eruptions have been massive tsunami and climate changing events.
I read one paper with a massive but subtle error.
They calculated the effect that all that dust, aerosols and CO2 would have on the climate *without positive feedback* and it matched the data, so they then used that *with* positive feedback to predict alarmist climate change!
