I have a special thing about ticks. I swat mosquitoes if they try to bit
me and I have good relations with the household spiders. I chop ticks into
pieces with a knife or my thumbnail.

The Adirondacks lie on the Canadian shield. While there are many mountainsHorrible! At least one type of bug I don't have to fight with either in sweden or eastern europe! =)
including Marcy, the highest in NY state, the valleys have lakes, rivers,
and bogs. Possibly worse than the mosquitoes is black fly season.
