With dust. There could be dust in the negative, or in the lab. In the negative, in the chemicals, in the possitivation optics. With so many places for dust, the final prints had dust printed as well.
Then look at the photos 20 years later, the colours degrade.
And the delay. I could take a year to shoot a colour roll, the thing was expensive so we did few photos.
