This is the truth! I once met a man who's wife was a semi-famous author in brazil. Apparently, she started self publishing erotic novels on amazon and out of all countries on the planet, brazil seemed to like them. So a time or two per year, she went on a tour to brazil to sign autographs and sell her latest book.
