ARM and its major holder are now trying to buy
AmpereComputing - a maker of high-efficiency
high-speed "cloud interface" chips. It's
currently owned by Oracle. These chips are
intended for high-volume 'cloud' servers and
promise to save a lot of kilowatts and
nanoseconds over the competitors.
