This was the last "Dr. Who" episode for Who4, Tom Baker,
and the beginning for Peter Davison, the 5th 'Doctor'.
However the PREMISE was very interesting - some aliens
with extreme math abilities had constructed a math so
all-encompassing that it could create/change physical
reality just by being calculated.
I prefer the pre-80s Dr Who more myself. Maybe not so many
telekinetic mathematicians, but more on-topic there were
lots of crazed AI computer systems. One of the (B/W) 1960s
ones had a little hacking where one of The Doctor's
companions crashed a computerised receptionist with a verbal
code injection attack that put it in an endless loop.
The Doctor tried a similar thing in a Jon Pertwee story
"The Green Death", but there he didn't express an actual
routine in a programming language like the earlier time.
