 I never went looking for a career. My eyes would glaze over when potential
employers would start talking about pension plans and so forth. It was
always about the next challenge.
 I slowed down in my 50s, found a place I wanted to stay, and was lucky
enough to find a job that required frequent new interfaces and gave me the
latitude for my skunk works projects.
 It's been interesting but I guess I'm not going to get a gold watch.

   I got lucky and found a smallish but INTERESTING
   concern kinda early on. 40+ years later ....
   The latest boss wasn't interested in 'research'
   or DIY and hated the word "Linux" .... so it was
   time to retire. Just Office365 and Cloud ... like
   ALL the good ordinary places. Then you can't be
   "criticized" ........
