Here in NZ, we just got rid our deputy chief of police, because of certain
unsavoury behaviour he was involved with. Note that no criminal charges
have been laid (yet): simply the fact that there is this whiff of
corruption about him was already grounds for dismissal.
That’s how checks and balances should work.
