Hello, friends of Plan 9!
After an extended dormant period, Dan Cross and I have taken on
moderation duties for this newsgroup and updated all the right
places, so it should be functional again. We have a page with
a little more information here:
http://9srv.net/comp.os.plan9/
[snip]
I love seeing the newsgroup revived! Even if it were to get no
posts. The above page says
Of historical interest, ISC has an archive of posts related to
the creation of comp.os.plan9, which includes the original call
for creation, vote, and charter.
but the link is empty. I was not able to find what it might be
with, e.g., "plan9 site:isc.org".
If your system is behaving like mine, the link isn't empty, their
server is just set up weird. It causes a download rather than
loading the page. I cannot speak to why they have done things
that way. I should make a note about that on the page.
Never mind, that's bogus, I was reading wrong. I've fixed the page
(and added a note that it's a download, which seems silly but
whatever). Thanks for pointing out the error.
Thanks, what I meant with "empty link" was that the source read
archive of posts
as you have guessed. I should've been more precise. Thanks for the
fix and everybody also who followed up providing the link!
