You can get the totally authorized sources here, and the way to do a canadian built with them (on Debian 7):
https://github.com/AdaLabs/gnat-vms
But you'll need to add the part "sysroot" with VMS sources for .h and other needed sources. We did not published them, because there are on HP/VSI property :( .
The way to build it is: mail to contact@vmsadaall.org and explain you have already some rights on VMS sources at your site, and I can send all the sysroot package.
To just test the compiler you can ask to have a compiled distribution, at the same address. I am very thrilled someone could test Ada programs with it :) .

I'm just retrying now this build, to validate it works on the last release of VMS - it has been built just for the first VSI release on itanium -. It seems it works fine now. Perhaps a new build with new "VMS sysroot" package using new VMS release could do better. To be tried.
On the side of the build itself there is a lot of work now to understand all the details of this (gcc based) build, to be able to upgrade. Important challenge, because its based on gcc 4.7 and whith gcc 5 it is the beginning of using generaly c++ for the builds.This gap has been one of the reason AdaCore gave up: too much work, and with noone at HP to answer technical questions. (VSI is not much more talkative :)  ).
It is not impossible that a new Ada initiative for VMS could exist. Because as we see even VSI understand there will be a longer path to x86, and so Alpha, Itanium (VAX) sites will exist a little more time. So Ada on VAX, Alpha, Itanium retains its maining. And some collaboration between VSI and Ada enthousiasts could emerge to have it on x86. "VMS Ada Alliance" can support the whole Ada/VMS generations. The interest is complete backward compatibility for programs used for critical applications.
