 And even if no disaster tolerance is required, security teams often
mandates to have production, test, and development systems on separate
network segments, with heavy firewalling in between. Good luck to
implement that with DECnet native routing.

That's what we used to release new versions of applications from test
to production. Using DECnet, FAL, and proxies... I also envisaged to
get a DFS setup in place, but got retired before I could achieve that.
