Yeah, same here. I once spent a small fortune on games when I was
younger. Now I only buy games once in awhile and usually when they are
on sale. And those games are always indie titles.
That $20/mo was averaged out over 18 years. The monthly amount would
surely be higher if I used the first 7-8 years of that time period as
a basis. When Steam (automated) refunds became possible (about 2015 I
think), my monthly spend dropped substantially. That, plus the market
getting saturated to the point where heavy discounts became more
prevalent (in my case mostly only applicable to single player titles
where there isn't really a time advantage to early adoption), and then
of course the "we can't give this shit away" freebie trend.
