Even Lenovo's Getting Into The Act

First there was Steam Deck, then the ROG Ally... and now Lenovo is
launching the "Legion Go" handheld gaming PC. Complete with Nintendo
Switch-like joypads.

Which is... cool, I guess. I don't personally see the appeal of an
underpowered PC which is only really good for games (although at least
the Legion Go comes with a wireless keyboard). I've always preferred a
nice big screen and having a PC with more grunt than I'd ever need.
You know, something that kicks ass at gaming but can also be used for
other stuff too (if I really needed portability, even a laptop looks
preferable). But different strokes, I suppose.

It's unfortunate it uses Windows 11 as opposed to SteamDeck OS (or a
knock-off Linux variant) but I assume fans will take care of that soon
enough. Reports are it's a bit unwieldy to hold; it looks like a fat
tablet rather than something intended to be held at arms length for
long periods of time.

Still, Lenovo getting into the act does indicate that the 'handheld
gaming PC' market is becoming more than just a one-off niche product.
Which, again, it's fine. I've no interest in it, but so long as
computer manufacturers keep making fat-assed tower PCs, I'm not going
to complain too loudly. But the success and popularity of that form
factor was never on my 2024 Bingo card. ;-P
