Our libraries are already overflowing, but that won't stop us. Come

happen.
This week we recklessly add the following game onto the overflowing
pile:
* Sable

Think of it as a cross between "No Man's Sky" and "Mad Max",
which sounds odd but damn if "Sable" doesn't make it work.
The visuals are subtly beautiful and the mechanics of the game
are solid (although perhaps leaning a bit too much towards
'walking sim' for some). Gliding about on your hoverbike and
exploring the wastelands, uncovering the history of the place
and upgrading your bike... it's a solid game. The only
downside: you probably already have this one (it was a free
game in on Epic in December 2022).
Ah yes and I even played and finished it. Highly recommend trying it Here's my review in games of the month from then:
**** Sable (Epic Freebie)
Spalls described this as a walking sim, Steam says it's
Exploration/Adventure. I don't really know walking sims, but it felt
very Exploration/Adventure to me. Sort of an RPG with only quests and
puzzles, no combat. I finished it! That's a first for me. I think
this may be the only Adventure game I every finished. If it is a
walking sim, it's also a first. There's something about this game,
it's a relaxing coming of age story where you try out things like 'do I
want to be a fisherman' or 'trader' etc. I ended up as a
vigilante/private eye type "The Shadow." There was a lot I didn't
discover how to be judging by the number of empty places for masks for
jobs at the end. There was a lot I just abandoned as too long/annoying
like the aforementioned fisherman.
The setting feels sort of a mix of star wars with something japanese
like shadow of the collossus (without the combat.)
I'm really quite fond of it, and it's right on the border of 5 stars.
Another short game
