Buying an actual new release is very rare for me.
I get excited for indie games, sometimes. Like Deltarune or Dreamsettler
or Desktop Survivors 97 (why do they all start with d?)
I generally don't get excited as I've never played them, so don't know if I'll like them.
The few sequels I did get excited for because I loved the original so much were all huge disappointments. Even though they still had really good scores on Steam. Risk of Rain 2, and Everspace 2 being the most notable. They're both on my 'give 'em another try' list, I just haven't gotten around to it.
Probably all the shovelware indy games that get given away everywhere don't help either.
