(although I honestly don't know: is Usenet still a haven for those
sorts of binaries? I can't imagine it still is. Why use such a slow,
fragile, overly complicated to use and forgotten platform when there
are so many better ways of distribution?
Um, maybe because it's the one method of distribution the authorities
won't be looking at, for exactly those reasons.
I have no idea is usenet even carries that stuff anymore since I have
not had access to binary groups in over a decade.
