As an American that grew up on PBS (which played a lot of BBS shows) and enjoys it, I agree.  The number of shows I've seen even recently where they were remade here after I saw the British versions first is astounding.  I don't understand why they need to be remade here. Generally it's much prettier people who are far worse actors, and the scripts rewritten for the braindead.  Wait I think I just answered my own question.  *facepalm*
