You know, something that kicks ass at gaming but can also be used for
other stuff too (if I really needed portability, even a laptop looks
preferable). But different strokes, I suppose.

Which, again, it's fine. I've no interest in it, but so long as
computer manufacturers keep making fat-assed tower PCs, I'm not going
to complain too loudly. But the success and popularity of that form
factor was never on my 2024 Bingo card. ;-P

  I so badly wish I could get a Steam Deck.. but if this isn't too
expensive I might get it instead.
 

I bought a PS4 for $180.  Got two games and found out on them REQUIRES PLAYSTATION PLAY ONLINE.  I don't like to get tractored into decisions, but I probably will have to get PLAYSTATION PLAY ONLINE.  The other game works okay, minus online features.
