Hey, neat! They're making a movie based on "Exit 8".
There's now a trailer for the movie. See it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoeWQjn0wF8It looks... well, I don't want to outright say 'not good', because I
think it may have its moments. The problem is that it's a movie based
on a game that can literally be finished in three or four minutes, and
you can tell that they've stretched the material incredibly trying to
get some drama out of it. I think the core idea is actually good
fodder for a film, but you can't simply retell the game; you have to
add to it, and unfortunately the film-makers seemed to be afraid to
stray too far (or, you know, at all) from the source material. The
trailer has a few moments where you can feel the weirdness factor
seeping through, but even for the 90 second trailer it's already
stretched thin. There's only so much you can stare at that guy's
gawping face and not start to find it tiresome.
Disappointing, but not entirely surprising. I still recommend the
game, though... if you can get /really/ cheap (or better yet, free).
It's a neat concept very well executed, but for the amount of game you
get even the current price of $4USD is waaaay too much.
