Hah!
I am in category F!
I built my gaming machine in a manly 4U rack case.
But is it WORK gear or just a rack-for-the-heck of it? :-)
Not that I'm opposed to the latter. I've often considered doing that
myself...just because. But I really don't have the room for a full
rack
[I mean, maybe I would if I got rid of some of the tower PCs I have
laying about. Or those boxes and boxes of old video game manuals. Or
those 'emergency spare' monitors collecting dust in the closet. But
ain't none of that gonna happen. ;-]
I doubt I'd use a rack-mounted PC for gaming though. Too noisy.
The air flow is amazing.
It has only ever been a problem when I had to take it out (...) to replace the
GPU.
I hear you. My current tower is beneath my desk. Every time I need to
futz about with its innards, I have to move a side-table, a chair, and
a small cabinet to get it out. Getting it back in is even worse
though; I have to scramble beneath the desk to plug in all the cables
and I don't think I've managed that without slamming my head at least
once against the bottom of the desk. ;-)
[The wags amongst you are now all probably nodding their heads and
saying, "Repeated concussions; that sure explains a lot." ;-]
