I use Forte Agent and their newsgroups. But they won't do anything

What happened to all the junk? Did my Forte newsgroup service finally
step up to the plate?

Google shut down posting Feb 26th. Spammers will have to use another
service if they want to flood groups, but as Google isn't archiving and
crawling it anymore as well it's unlikely there would be any point to them.
More to the point, Google let people post for free. Other services
require payment for the privilege. This sort of spamming is a high
volume, low return business. You can make money off of it - millions
of dollars even - but you don't get much per post. And while Usenet
accounts aren't expensive, there are probably such returns from usenet
(due to the low traffic) that even that minimal outlay wasn't worth it
in terms of how much the spammers were likely to get back.
Once Google stopped their free service, the spam stopped as if
somebody had turned a spigot. It was sort of amazing, actually.
Unfortunately, I fear the relief will only be temporary. To paraphrase
"Jurassic Park", 'spam finds a way'.
There are free Usenet services. Its just that most of them are pretty vigilant about stomping spam.
