    "First Templar" is a third-person action/adventure
    hacker-slasher; not quite as combat-focused as "God
    of War" but generally in that area. It's also a lot
    rougher in production; the visuals were a bit dated,
    even when the game was new (in 2011!), and they've
    visibly aged over the past 13 years. The controls
    aren't smooth; the writing and dialogue are cheesy.
    This isn't an outright bad game, but at it's best
    it was a B-list game, and it hasn't improved with
    age. Lovers of the genre might appreciate it (as
    will anyone who likes FREE stuff) but it's not
    the sort of game to rush out and get, even gratis.
  I mean, I'm gonna grab it. Free AND on GOG? How can I resist? But you
have 72 hours to decide for yourself. Choose wisely.

I rushed out and got it!  Now to see if I remember to play it any time in the distant future after I finish all the games I've got lined up.
