Hi all,
Has anyone played the new Master of Magic?

Me and my missus still play the original version and I am wondering how
it compares to the old one.
I didn't even know they'd made a new one. Well, let's take a look and
see what it's all about.
Hmmm...
Reasons encouraging me to buy:
- Reviews are generally postive
- I usually enjoy 4X games
- I'm a (sort of) fan of the originals made by SimTex / Microprose
- The Number must grow!
Reasons telling me not to buy
- I already own original MOM and -since it's installed in
my huge DOSBox collection- I can play it any time I want.
- I never really got into the originals in the first place
(I mostly stuck with MOO and Civ)
- It doesn't seem to add anything new except QOL and higher-
res graphics
- the art style doesn't excite me
- The developer's previous games - "Thea" / "Thea 2" didn't
engage me and felt a bit slipshod, so I've little reason
to believe this one will be any better
- It feels a lot like an attempt to monetize nostalgia rather
than create something new, which I find distasteful.
- I'd rather support new IPs rather than remasters
- I already bought some games this month and I haven't
played those yet. The Backlog must shrink!
Looks like the 'don't buy' list wins it this time. But I'll throw the
game on my 'wishlist'; maybe I'll reconsider it when it drops down to
the sub-$5 mark ;-)
...and you are desperate to satisfy the hunger of The Number.
