Ah, Yahtzee. I remember him. I used to watch his show regularly. But
when he and Escapist parted ways, I didn't follow him to his new host.
Not out of any loyalty to Escapist (honestly, outside of Yahtzee, they
didn't have any content worth watching) but because I was pretty much
burned out on Yahtzee's schtick by that point. He doesn't really say
anything new or particularly insightful. He just says it really fast,
with a bit of snark.* And that's fine for the first hundred or so
reviews, but it got tedious after a while.
And this latest review... well, it's 'more of the same', isn't it? Not
to say it's bad (or that people are wrong for enjoying him. It's just
that it's the same act as ever, and it is not as if he is saying
anything that dozens of other reviewers (some just as snarky as he is)
haven't already said before.
So, yeah, watch the review. It's good - Yahtzee is undeniably a
talented presenter - and I generally agree with his comments.
But it isn't enough to make me a regular watcher of his channel again.
* My God, he's the opposite of me. Sure, I don't say anything new or
insightful either, and I use plenty of snark, but I say it SLOW! Pages
and pages of SLOW to say the simplest thing! Why, I've gone on several
sentences just in this aside alone! Do you get it, do ya, do ya?!? My
comments are excessively long. C'mon, it's /funny/! ;-)
Possibly a culturally thing as Brits are very much into everything is shite and I want to moan about it. I believe he based the character on Charlie Brooker who has made a whole part of his career about it!
