 Well, this is unusual; we're getting a twofer from Epic this week. And
you've probably even heard of one of the games they're giving away
too. This sudden shift in behavior at Epic is scaring me; is it a sign
of the apocalypse?
 * Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

    Sequel to "Human Revolution", "Mankind Divided" was
    an overly ambitious game that - while it capture a lot of
    what made the franchise so notable, ultimately failed to
    provide a compelling adventure in the whole. It had its
    moments (there's a rather fun bank heist halfway through
    the game) but the too-small scale of the quest and its
    unfulfilling ending left it feeling rather hollow in
    the end. Still, it's a pretty-enough game (even 8
    years later), and it isn't without its merits. It's
    not the highlight of the series, but it's no
    "Invisible War" either.

let's see. I might be in the mood for something like this.

 * The Bridge
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/the-bridge
    A puzzle-platformer where you manipulate your point of
    view to move on. It's not really all that original a
    concept, and the game's biggest gimmick seems to be
    not its gameplay as its grey scale visuals. It's not
    a bad game - if you like the sort - but it's not
    really something I can get excited about either.
    (also, you may already have this game in your library
    since Epic already offered it as a freebie back in
    January 2020).
   So, a couple of good-but-not-great games; I won't complain too loudly
about the selection. You have the usual seven days to grab them if you
want them. Or don't take them; it will just be your choice and the
wrathful judgment of The Number. ;-)
