Bugs, glitches, people complaining it's too hard (far more of this) or
too easy.

I don't even have it, but I've been hit by one of the bugs. Co-op is
sometimes causing me to get kicked from the game with a message
"Inappropriate Activity Detected."

I've been able to get back in immediately fortunately, but others
haven't been so lucky, and can't even launch the game. Apparently it's
been going on since release day, even though I just started running into
it today.

I think I'm being summoned as a blue (aid against invader) to the DLC,
which since I don't have can't be there. I can't prove it of course as
I just get the message that I'm being summoned right before I get kicked.

There's apparently a number of other bugs and glitches associated with
it as well.
The general opinion seems to be "it's fun and what we wanted, but...".
Complaints, as mentioned, focus on the difficulty and stability
issues.
While there's a lot of 'git gud, scrub' comments against people who
have issue with the difficulty, apparently the DLC is much more
ruthless than the main game, with even highest-level characters easily
getting trounced. I'm sure as players adjust and develop new tactics
this issue will be less of a concern, but it does appear that -even
for hard-core fans of the game- the learning curve on the DLC might be
a bit too steep. From Software (the developers) are fairly good about
fixing their game though.
The bugs are an unfortunate but sadly normalized part of modern
gaming. Like pretty much all modern software, it sounds like this DLC
was rushed out to market too early. But, again, the developers are
active in pursuing these problems.
Are the negative reviews fair? Absolutely. But should they be a sign
to avoid the game altogether? No. Ultimately, I have confidence that
the DLC will become everything its fans hope for. It's not there yet
though. So give it a few months before buying.
(Honestly, that should be standard practice for any modern game. Never
buy anything on day one).
