Elite Dangerous Odyssey: it's my go-to game. (I have Starfield,

It's said that EDO is a mile wide and an inch deep,
but there is depth to the game if you look for it.
Actually, it's more of a simulator, with gameplay bolted
onto it. Yet exploration, trading (space trucking), bounty hunting,
and space battles can be done in PVE or PVP environments.
And the environment is big. Real big: a 1:1 scale simulation
of the Milky Way.
As a live service game, Frontier Developments has to keep adding
fresh content. One thing they just added is "Supercruise Overdrive
Frame Shift Drives", which act like ordinary supercruise, but
have a "boost" function.
Cmdr Buur compares "vanilla supercruise" with "SCO supercruise" here:

Unfortunately, the missions in the game are procedurally-generated
for the most part, and chained missions don't seem to be in the game
anymore. However, for those wanting to role-play and have an adventure,
I highly recommend the adventures at Elite Dangereuse:

o7, and see you out in the Black...
I really wanted to get into EDO as I loved Elite and even yes Elite II (and other space sim trading games with combat like WC: Privateer) in the ancient ages, but it just felt dull. I may not have given it enough time though.
