Dunno if USA only or what, but might be a good alternative if you want to
try out, say, newer games, have a fast internet connex, but don't have a
hefty pc available (or don't want the heat/hassle of running on your pc).
You still have to own the games on steam/epic/xbox/ubisoft and have to check
if geforceN has the one you want to play, but meet all those requirements
and it could be worth playing with.

I've tried GeForce Now in the past and generally approve of it... at
least as much as I do any streaming service. It's surprisingly
playable and was a good way to preview games without having to install
them first or worry about hardware requirements. It's actually rather
impressive that I could get games like "Doom 4" running on a
fifteen-year old potato laptop.

That said, I've no NEED for the service. I've got the expensive
hardware already. For me, it's a useful gimmick; a party trick I enjoy
pulling out to show off to others (or just to impress myself ;-). It's
nothing I'd ever want to pay for.

Especially since GeForce has been nerfing the free service over the
years. It used to be a lot more useful. While it limited you to only
an hour per session, you could get into a game relatively quickly and
got the game at highest quality. Now, the free version has almost
hour-long waits before you can start playing (at least sometimes) and
only the paid tiers get run on RTX GPUs. Sure, I get that GeForce Now
is a business and the company needs to make money, but this loss of
functionality has left a sour taste in my mouth.

And, honestly, I still don't really see the need for the service.
Modern PCs are so amazingly overpowered that even the average laptop
can usually play most games. Sure, you'll have to crank down the
graphics settings, but games are so gorgeous already that even at low
settings they're still pretty nice. If you're really that much of a
graphics whore that you NEED all the bling, then you'll probably just
buy the hardware anyway. Especially since you still have to buy the
games elsewhere anyway.

As a party trick, GeForce Now is cool and I recommend gamers take a
look at it. But as a service you pay for? Even on sale, I just don't
think it's really worth the money for most people.

YMMV, of course. I'm just some insane commenter on Usenet, after all.
;-P
