So I finally got around to ripping all my CD's to play them in the new
car and it's either slow and some of them won't even be recognised. My
thought was I know I'll use a torrent site but my old go to (Pirate Bay)
now seems to just be a target for ad hackers. So any recommendations of
what to use?

Music pirate's rule number 1: Don't talk about Usenet.  ;-)

(although I honestly don't know: is Usenet still a haven for those
sorts of binaries? I can't imagine it still is. Why use such a slow,
fragile, overly complicated to use and forgotten platform when there
are so many better ways of distribution?

(I mean, I guess I could check myself. Technically, my news-provider
does offer binaries support. But I just don't wanna. ;-)

From what I noticed it still is there, but by now it's so streamlined in
modern apps that there's really no interconnect between the binary
side of the usenet and the text part. I was checking out a few of the
apps for binaries when I was looking for usenet phone apps, and none
of them even seemed to allow text posts at all.
