And I preordered it!
In laws? I don't think so. There's the Kid Stuff trait which means your parents are alive. It's pretty banal, but you do get gifts from them if you visit them. (I got a gun which so far better than anything else I had, but limited/very rare ammo, apparently one of the top 5 guns in the game, and a backpack that increases carrying capacity, which seems to be pretty well down the research/crafting trees) That's entirely optional, and you have to choose it.
I think it's funny that you have to use one of your 3 starting traits to have your parents alive. A joke about how most games/heroes your parents are dead.
I've got a little bit of a want to play it again, I think it might be a game that's better in small doses, and not one where you should expect to make much if any progress in a session.
It really feels like a game Spalls would like, especially on easy mode. Just tooling around seeing the sites with a bit of RPG/ground and space combat. :)
