It is a multiplayer game so I automatically pass but thanks!

It isn't, not really. It's a single-player game with a stupid
always-online requirement, and one where you can sometimes bump into
real players. But the core of the game is largely single-player. It's
mostly about managing your own ship and trade routes. Sure, you can band
up with others but still, you're doing a lot of the work alone.

Which, again, isn't to say the game is for you. It seems clear that this
genre isn't the sort of thing you're really into (which is fine).
All I ask is that you reject it for the right reasons ;-)

Thanks Spalls!!
I quit playing Diablo 4 because there were strangers in my games even
though I set it otherwise. I am a strictly single player game person.

FWIW: EDO has "solo" mode, where you won't run into any other players.

It's still "online" though, since whatever you do affects the game's
galaxy.

It also has a kind of in-between mode, "player group", where you'll only
see people in the player group you're signed on with. Some people use
this to avoid the gankers, including those participating in the "Mobius"
PG, which is PVE, but you might run into other "Mobius" players.

Thanks Vailor!

My internet connection shouldn't be much of a problem. Could it just
be myself in a player group?

Maybe I should try it.
Yes. When I played "Elite: Dangerous", I did so without any
interactions from any other players.* For all intents and purposes, it
was a single-player game for me.
A single-player game that stupidly required me to be online all the
time.
But, like vallor suggested, unless you really know that you enjoy this
genre of games, maybe do some research on it first before untying the
purse strings. It doesn't have the easiest difficulty curve (I'd bet
that 50% of players bail out of the experience with their first
docking; it's a great newb-filter ;-), it's visuals -while pretty-
aren't going to enthrall you, and the gameplay -whether combat or
trading- aren't to everyone's taste. It can be an extremely _slow_
game too.
Not that it can't be fun --the enduring popularity of the Elite
franchise says otherwise-- but it's not a game to everyone's taste.
Or mine. I didn't really have fun with the game (mostly, I played it
because I'd played the earlier titles and had to see what they'd done
with the franchise). Which is fine; not every game has to suit
everybody's taste. But just because I don't enjoy playing it, doesn't
mean it's not a good game, and I don't want you to misunderstand my
praise for it as a recommendation that you rush out and buy it. It
may be something you enjoy, but look into it a bit more before buying,
is all I'm saying.
-------
* I should note, though, that I didn't really do that deep a dive into
the game. I played maybe ten or twelve hours, which -as any Elite fan
will tell you- is barely scratching the surface. Still, it was enough
to let me see what the game was like. But take that limited play-time
into consideration when listening to my advice ;-)
