Wait, are we still doing this? Isn't Christmas come and gone? What's
with all these games? Well, I guess we'll just have to endure the
rigorous ordeal of adding even more games into our library. What a
hard life we live!

* Hot Wheels Unleashed
Side note:
Six years in, and Epic still can't figure out how to run a digital
store-front. Now, I get that these freebies are putting added load
onto their servers; even Steam sometimes stumbles there. But at least
when Steam can't handle the load, it doesn't present a default
cloudflare 404 screen, block my IP, and lock up the client forcing me
to kill the process in task manager. Epic Game Store does that. And
this isn't even the first time this has happened.
I'm sure eventually the problem will resolve itself (and if not, I
mean, who cares. It's not that this is a game I really want. I just
like seeing The Number go up ;-). But Epic: you wanna know why you
aren't making headway in your 'war' against Valve? This is why. Fix
your damn client, you clowns. People have been telling you that for
over half a decade, and yet even after all that time and press, it's
still shit.
(side note to the side note: the problem also occurs through the
browser, albeit more subtly and at least the browser doesn't lock up.
I'm more forgiving there, since it's obviously just an overloaded
server).
On the other hand, Epic's continued incompetence made me smile. So I
guess that's good?
TL;DR: if you want the game, maybe wait for the servers to be less
over-loaded, and don't use their shitty client.
