Steam released their "Best of 2024" rewards. While I generally don't hold any of these awards in high regard, the Steam list does seem a bit more reflective of, you know, games people actually played and liked than the other award shows, which seem aimed more at pleasing the publishers than listening to those pesky customers.
[Although that 'Best on SteamDeck category is a bit self-serving ;-)]
Game of the Year: Black Myth: Wukong Outstanding Visual Style: Silent Hill 2 Most Innovative Gameplay: Liar's Bar Outstanding Story-Rich Game: Black Myth: Wukong Sit Back and Relax: Farming Simulator 25 VR Game of the Year: Metro Awakening Labor of Love: Elden Ring (2022) Best Soundtrack: Red Dead Redemption Best on Steam Deck: God of War Ragnarök Better with Friends: Helldivers Best Game You Suck At: Black Myth: Wukong
[I'm calling out Elden Ring 'cause it was released in 2022. All the rest of the games are 2024 releases. On PC, anyway. A number of them came out years earlier on other platforms]
It's good advertising, anyway. It reminds me that -eventually- I want to get around to playing "Black Myth: Wukong" and "Elden Ring". I'll probably grab "Silent Hill 2", "Liar's Bar" and "Red Dead Redemption" too. But I'm skipping "God of War: Ragnarok"; I don't want to bother with Sony's account requirements. Maybe one day, if it ever makes its way to GOG. ;-)
