It's our mid-month update for Amazon's Prime Gaming give-aways. Are
you ready for more goodies? Who doesn't like goodies? Let's see what
goodies are on offer. Goodies!
* Bioshock 2 Remastered (via GOG)
Not really a surprise, this game, seeing as Amazon likes
giving away whole series, and we already received "Bioshock
Remastered" back in October. Some people liked this one
more than the first; personally, I've always found it the
weakest of the series. It doesn't really say or do anything
new; it always felt too much like a rehash of the first
game. It's not bad, just redundant.
* GRIP: Combat Racing (via GOG)
A racer with guns; sort of a more violent take on "Mario
Kart". Also, your cars can drive on the ceiling if they're
going fast enough. It's basically Whiplash for the 2020s.
It's not very deep, but it's fun and bombastic. I like it.
* Steamworld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech (gia GOG)
Another turn-based card-game. It's fine, I'm sure, but I
don't care. Cards and I don't mix.
* Are you Smarter Than a 5th Grader (via EPIC)
A stupid TV show gets a stupider game. I can't help but
be reminded of

Another combat-racer, except this one has you in a plane
instead of on the road. It looks pretty but I've never found
this style of game as satisfying as its land-bound cousins.
Especially those that have you flying through rings. Might
be good, but I can't get excited about it.
* Spirit Mancer (via Amazon)
<sigh> Deckbuilder. Is this the future of gaming? Reboots,
sequels and deckbuilders? Not for me.
Well, there you go. The best I can say about this fortnight's
offerings is that they make The Number go up. That's a positive,
right?
