On a only tangentially-related note: you know one major flaw with EA,
UPlay, Epic, and all these other launchers? The one thing that just
shoves in your face that they're made for the benefit of the
publishers, and not the user? They all launch into the STOREFRONT and
not the gamer's library, and there's no way to change it.
Yeah, annoying. EA should dump its own service and move them to Steam
like Bethesda did. ;) So I tried my old Origin and it said "Please use
EA App to continue". Heh. Since I haven't used it forever, I just
uninstalled it and regained 355 MB. I will install bloated EA app when
needed. I hope it's never since I read bad things about it to make
Origin look good. :O
Do any of you use EA app?
Define "use" ;-)
It's on my computer. In the rare instance I fire up an app-encumbered
with it, it probably launches in the background. But it's been a while
since I even looked at any of EA's catalog. I never interact with the
app beyond, if necessary, closing it manually if it still lingers in
the background after the game quits.
I certainly have never used it in the sense to buy anything, or browse
the store for info about games, or interacted with any of its features
(does it have a friends list? Chat? Achievements? I've no idea).
Oh, wait. The above isn't COMPLETELY true. I _did_ fire up EA-App
yesterday to check if it, like all the other crap-launchers, loaded up
to the store page instead of the game's library page, and looked in
its settings to see if there was a way to change this default (there
wasn't), before reporting on this failing in my previous post. Does
that count? ;-)
